Biergarten
Definition Wikipedia: Beer garden (literally from the German "Biergarten") is an open-air area, where beverages (preferably beer) and prepared, typically local food (German cuisine), are served.

There are a few very nice beer gardens in the Englischer Garten. And it is allowed to bring your own food (not drinks).
Tip: The best beer gardens are Seehaus, on a small lake in the middle of Englischer Garten, close to subway station Münchener Freiheit or Dietlindenstraße and Aumüller in the Englischer Garten, close to subway station Studentenstadt.
Viktualienmarkt
The Victuals Market, only a few steps from Marienplatz, is Munichs' famoust open air market. The Viktualienmarkt developed from an original farmers’ market to a popular market for gourmets.
Right next to the Victuals Market is the site of the "Schrannenhalle", built under King Maximilian I according to a French model and burned down in 1932. Rebuilt with the original wrought-iron frames, the new "Schrannenhalle" was inaugurated in September 2005.

Nymphenburg
The Nymphenburg Palace is a Baroque palace. It was the summer residence of the Bavarian monarchs. Five generations of Wittelsbach rulers were involved in the construction of this stately ensemble, which houses several outstanding collections. Inside are the Marstallmuseum and the Porcelain Museum, the Museum Mensch und Natur (Human and Nature) and the Botanical Garden.
Tip: Don't miss a walk on the park.

Olympia
The Olympiapark in Munich, Germany, is an Olympic Park which was constructed for the 1972 Summer Olympics. It includes Olympic Stadium, Olympic Halls, Olympic Tower and Olympic Village with privat apartments and student residences.
Tip: From the Olympic tower you have a great view over munich to the Alps, as far as the weather is clear.

Alte Peter
Alte Peter (Old Peter) is the oldest parish church in Munich with ornate interior decorated with old masters from 6 centuries. The tower is one of best viewpoints of the city, but it takes 306 steps to climb it.

Müllerisches Volksbad/Mueller’s Public Baths
The Müllerische Volksbad (Mueller’s Public Baths) is the Art Nouveau jewel in the swimming area of Munich and one of the most beautiful baths in Europe. Since 1901, the bathing temple is open on the Isar River to its visitors. Inside is not only a swimming pool, but also an Irish-Roman steam bath, sauna, baths and shower baths and a solarium.
Müllersches Volksbad is open seven days a week and a swim can be enjoyed for a minimal fee. You can also purchase a combination ticket, which will allow you to enjoy swimming and a sauna as well. The baths are easily accessible via the S-Bahn to Isartor or Rosenheimer Platz.

Englischer Garten/English Garden
The English Garden were created in 1789 by the British physicist Sir Benjamin Thompson, the count of Rumford. The Munich English Garden is a huge park which stretches alongside the river Isar from almost the very center to the northernmost rim of the city. The park is the largest city park in Europe and larger than New York's Central Park. The English Garden is one thing which makes Munich such a pleasant city to live in. During the summer you'll see students from the adjacent universty studying here. Other people play football, frisbee, horse riding, even cricket and surfing on the Eisbach river!
A particularly notorious activity is sunbathing in the nude. In the area in and around the horse track (near Universität) it is permitted to strip off naked. In German this is called FKK (Frei Körper Kulture = Free Body Culture).
Lakes around Munich
Bavaria's lakes Granted, Bavaria has no access to the sea - but is renowned for its stunning lakes. Most of them are easily accessible by train or car within less than 1 hour from Munich and offer an amazing and rewarding view of the Alps and amazing landscapes. The most popular lake close to Munich which is accessible by the public transport train S-Bahn is the Starnberger Lake.

Dreigroschenkeller (subway stop Isartor)
The Dreigroschenkeller is named after the Threepenny Opera, written by Bertolt Brecht & Kurt Weill. Located close to the Deutsches Museum it's a great underground bar with traditional Bavarian style set-up.
